Make waves with kids’ Sealife arts and crafts activities

There’s a whole world to discover deep below and just above the waves of the world’s seas.

On dry land, in the classroom or at home, there are many Art and Craft ideas to interest young minds in the colourful and exotically-shaped creatures which lurk in our oceans.

Yellow Moon stocks Arts and Crafts materials which kids will love to put together – they can learn about the animals which live in the sea while having fun.

Splashing out on some Sealife Stained Glass Hanging Decorations is a great investment. The kits contain pre-cut double-sided card shapes in six assorted sealife designs, and come complete with coloured tissue paper and coloured hanging cord.

Once these stunning stained glass effect decorations are created, they will look great hanging from the ceiling as a reminder of kids’ skilful handiwork.

The dolphin features as one of the six designs in the kit. Did your children know that dolphins can stay up to 15 minutes under water but cannot breathe below the waves? I didn’t!#

The stained glass hanging decorations look great hanging from the ceiling next to Giant 3D Honeycomb Sealife Shapes which are giant sealife-shaped card cut-outs with 3D effect honeycomb centres. Kids can personalise them with Deco pens and acrylic pens; a good chance for them to find out what colour sea creatures are.

They will have great fun choosing which colour to use for the seahorse shape. That’s because this superb species camouflages itself by adopting neutral brown and grey colours when in many underwater environments, and display bright colours during social moments or in surroundings they’re not used to!#

Kids will find it’s great to have a household item to remind them of happy times spent learning about sea creatures. Sealife Cushion Sewing Kits will let them make tropical fish and octopus cushions using pre-cut felt shapes, felt pieces, plastic needles and yarns. Unlike an octopus, children won’t need four pairs of arms to carry out a sewing task which is ‘yarn’ good fun to complete!

The creatures featured in the Sealife Sand Art Decorations also require a steady hand to bring to life. Peeling off the pre-cut sections exposes the sticky surface which kids can sprinkle coloured sand on to decorate. There is a turtle included in each of the Sand Art Kits – in real life sand is vital for these creatures as this is where they build their nests.

Sealife arts and crafts activities will make kids want to find out more about sea animals. A trip to one of the UK’s many Sea Life centres (http://bit.ly/g28wHf) can help them satisfy their curiosity.

These centres offer schools the chance to make educational visits at which kids can hear talks, hold a crab, touch a starfish and even board glass-bottomed boats in an aquarium!

There are also plenty of books about the secrets of the watery kingdoms which exist in the oceans. Sealife Scratch Art Bookmarks will make sure that kids don’t lose their place when reading these books.

These bookmarks come in six assorted sealife shapes and can be made by scratching a pattern onto a specially-coated surface which has bright rainbow colours just beneath.

Just like the sea, there’s a world of colour below the surface of these bookmark shapes!
